David is an early-stage investor, a General Partner at Ascend Capital and a Founding Partner at Future Stack. Inspired by Sutter Hill, with enhancements for 2024, Future model focuses on human-centric entrepreneurship aimed at improving the well-being of individuals and the planet.
David's investment philosophy centers on supporting early-stage founders, with a particular emphasis on preventing founder burnout. Having experienced the venture cycle himself and mentored hundreds of founders, he has observed burnout becoming a common theme. David is committed to helping founders achieve sustainable growth while maintaining their physical, mental, and emotional well-being.
David completed the YC of General Partner training and graduated from Plexo Capital’s first GPx cohort. David has also served as an advisor and mentor to 500 Startups, A16z’s TxO Fund, YC, and TechStars. His portfolio includes companies like Wisy, Pendulum, Mirza, Ecotone, Breakr, Drop Party (acquired), Surge.ai, Veracity Protocol, 8 Myles, among many others.
